Vessels registered under Part 1 for Commercial or Pleasure use can apply using this form.

What information do I need to provide?

You will need the vessel name, vessel use/endorsement (Pleasure or Commercial), the Official Number and confirmation of the Official Number, current port, proposed new name choices (in order of preference), and your intended Port of Choice.

Is the Official Number required?

Yes. You must provide the Official Number and confirm it in the application.

How do I request a new vessel name?

Enter several name choices in order of preference. If none are available, you will be asked to submit further names via email.

Can I change my Port of Choice?

Yes. Select your intended Port of Choice during the application (for example, ABERDEEN).

What should I enter for Current Port?

Provide the port currently recorded on your vessel’s registration.

Can I provide Preferred Port Letters and Numbers (PLNs) for a fishing vessel?

If applicable, you may indicate your Preferred Port Letters and Numbers (PLNs – Fishing) in the form.
